inspiration nation

found these beauties on all the mountains. i love the delicate string arrangements. these would be gorgeous loaded up on a patio. indoors you'd have a drip drop mess. but still gorgeous. made by "string gardens". unfortunately their website has been hacked. poo poo. :(

custom terrarium

the thing i love about making custom terrariums is that there is always a first time. first time making a miniature designer chair, first time making a portrait of someone and in this particular terrarium i am introducing... first time making a hamburger...
yup. thats right i made a hamburger. naturally there it is perched on a mini table, with a patient and empty chair to its side and in classic terri planty humor a lady is lounging on the hunk of food.

the inspiration image from which i had to work from (the person's identity has been blocked to protect their privacy. all you need to know is they like burgers and pools.)

inspiration nation

i'm loving these images of plantscapes and alternative vessels i found on seesaw designs. planty plant inspiration on the table lands. i am always on the look out for new ways of displaying plants and especially new cool vessels to stick them in. i love the multi purpose of the last two images. they are upcycled sugar molds turned into functional holders from compai. pretty cool and innovative i'd say. and the first image is just plain gorgeous. nice.

custom terrariums

a couple new custom terrariums... one for the avid gardener, lover of succulents, lady of earth. and the other for the collector of angels, an angel sitting patiently on a bench, observing, relaxing, pondering where to fly to next.

holiday inspiration

i have been so busy making custom orders and shopping for xmas, such little time for blogging these days! more terrarium photos coming soon! in the meantime check out these cute succulent xmas trees. i should try and make these next year. my girlfriend sent the image to me. i gotta find out the source. coming soon! i also dug the idea of the succulents as toppers on the gifts below, just not totally loving the gift wrapping materials. but i dig the overall concept.

good times had at renegade

the renegade craft fair holiday sale a success! lots and lots of hard work (yes - blood, sweat, splinters, lack of sleep but no tears). i met so many new people that were creative, hilarious, kind and inspiring. many of my friends and family came too!

lots of terri plantys found new homes. custom orders were placed! and our booth was looking gorgeous! that wall was a hit! and angelica's macrame plant hangers looked beautiful! plus her dog lola - probably the most adorable boston terrier ever was giving love to everyone!

i was so happy with the outcome of the event. but i could not have pulled it off without the amazing help of my parents (even though they couldn't be there they prepared me every step of the way), my boyfriend erick (he is my hero. he does it all! the grunt work and the creative!), my sister!! (she is the best baby sister you could ever have), my boss (the tips, the support, the time off and then some), my grandparents and uncle (the photoshoot, the food, the love, the best pr ever!) my dear friend erica (she is amazing. she keeps me in check and is always there), and of course angelica (my partner in crime - we did it!).

thank you to everyone who came out to support, shop and say hello! i am so lucky!

make love plant a garden

this is one of my favorite new series of terrariums. they say what needs to be said MAKE LOVE PLANT A GARDEN. i hope you love them as much as i do. i just imagine that someone has one in their home or business and a person approaches the terrarium curious about the sign and then boom! the little person is staring right back at them with a message. see! even domestic objects can make a statement beyond i look great.

custom terrarium

this little guy is gonna make it! he is almost there! oh man the rush! the beauty of nature! the power of ambition!
alright enough drama... this terrarium portrays a young man mountain climber. yup. he is in action and surrounded by lush mother nature. the lady who requested this custom job is a landscaper (a mother nature herself!) and major inspiration. she is one of the folks that encouraged me to pursue my dreams in horticulture. so i am especially excited to present this for her. this is a gift for her son the mountain climber. pretty cool, huh?!
